Recognizing that many students struggle with decoding and blending sounds to form words, Tutorville Learning Centre develops a personalized plan for each child. This individualized strategy ensures targeted support, empowering students to become competent and fluent readers.

To ensure a solid understanding of phonetic principles, the tutor guides students through the following key stages:

• Mastering Individual Letter Sounds: We begin by introducing students to the phonetic sounds of individual letters. This foundational step ensures they can accurately recognize and articulate the basic building blocks of words.
• Understanding Vowels and Consonants: A critical focus is placed on differentiating between long and short vowel sounds, as well as clearly distinguishing consonant sounds. This distinction is essential for accurate decoding and word recognition.
• Progressing to Blends: Once individual sounds are established, students advance to small phonetic blends ("bl," "st," "ch"). This allows them to combine sounds to form meaningful units. As their confidence grows, we transition to larger and more complex blends, enabling them to decode longer words and understand the relationship between a sequence of letters and the words they represent.

This systematic methodology ensures that students build a strong phonological awareness, which is crucial for developing into fluent and confident readers.
